In this play dramatized Political stire wriiten in drama it is based on life of Nanaphadnavis . In which we see predicament of powerless man regressive life of that kind of people corruption and superior inferior complex etc.

In This play protagonist is Ghashiram who position as Kotwal of city the process where by such a position is attained however is not a straightforward one it involve sacrifice of Ghashirama's personal conscience and families as well as the use of human and immoral means

Also we witness the religious and Moral decedance of the Poona Brahmin and the political corruption .

In this play we see universal law of society if someone lost power and position how the society react with tham and during time of monarchy how the common people become victime of dominating ruler .

But it is more difficult for survive in society without power ,and wealth 

 

because everybody don't love person and community but power and position also performed an imporatan roles in human life and always upperclass dominating and command on lowerclass , by this play we can look the society of PESHWA during monarchy and how the powerless people suffer a lot against authority and they become victimization .

torture ,exploitation so and so ,things we see in this play Vijay Tendulakar potrayed the real picture of society and throws some lights on that era during this kind of system and authority came in exist .

But also we can see Religion,Festival,Brahmin's status in society and Marathi culture Throught this play .

The play also deals with such issues .Tendulkar has used historical reference and events to suit his purpose He has treated his historical materials such as manner that it has become universal play.

This is not only a story but, in prose ,verse,music,and danceset in histirical ,and socio political forces which know barriers of time and place .
